On the 24th of March, I turned 19 years old. Once again - I’m shocked by how fast a year has gone by. With that, here are 19 things I learned at 19: 1. IT'S OKAY TO HAVE BAD DAYS, WEEKS OR EVEN MONTHS.2. Worry less, live more! If you know me, you know I’m a worrier - always throwing in with the what if here and there. I worry about almost everything from whether or not there’s going to be traffic to whether or not my hair would go all frizzy in the 72% humidity. And, yes - I am aware that these things are out of control. After 19 year of being anxious about almost anything and everything, I’ve finally realized that it’s time to let go - and to be more carefree. 3. BE ADVENTUROUS! Yes - part of it I do mean go ahead - book a flight, get packing and start travelling - but, I also mean be a little more adventurous in the finer things in life. Try out a new look & who knows maybe you’ll like it! [or] try a new recipe - look up for inspirations, get the ingredients and get cookin’! [or] get your hair done - pink [or] blue [or] go wild [and] get both! 4. It’s okay to keep things to yourself - sometimes.I have learnt from personal experience that it’s okay to keep things to yourself sometimes. Sometimes, keeping things to yourself may help you grow the most - especially when it comes to relationship, outside opinions and advice that can complicate when it could have been simple. 5. THERE'S BEAUTY IN BEING VULNERABLE!Most of the time in life, I have felt embarrassed or weak if I cried in front of someone. 6. SETBACKS ARE PART OF LIFE, BUT SO IS HAPPINESS! |
